Starting early has benefits down the road
The Shawano Orthodontics team agrees with the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) which recommends scheduling your child’s initial orthodontist exam around the age of seven. That’s the ideal time to take a first look and to begin monitoring your child’s developing teeth and jaw. During this development stage, we can work with the natural growth of the child’s mouth and identify the most favorable timing for achieving the best treatment outcome. Many children benefit from early correction, often lessening the need for more serious (and costly) treatment later in life. An annual orthodontic exam is highly recommended to ensure your child’s mouth and jaw development is monitored for any treatment needs.
